The KSC-SW10 amplified subwoofer features a 150W max power amplifier with a dual voice coil 180mm concave woofer, and a 180mm concave passive radiator. The Kenwood KSC-SW10 with Passive radiator technology produces an impressive bass response from such a compact enclosure - air pressure from the powered woofer moves the passive radiator, magnifying the bass response. The subwoofer, with its 94mm height, can be mounted flat under a seat in the passenger compartment, or in the boot.The subwoofer can be used with any type of car radio due to its ability to accept either line level (RCA) or speaker level.

I bought this product for my '06 Jeep Wrangler. I had seen someone mount it underneath the rear seat on a Jeep forum and I pretty much copied what he did:

It fits perfectly although I'm not sure how he was able to zip up the seat afterward, I had to use zip ties. Anyway I wasn't expecting much from how small it was, but it sounds amazing. It's crisp and thumps pretty hard. My biggest complaint with my Jeep was that the sound disappeared when the top was down with the wind and road noise and all. Now I can hear my stereo perfectly and the sub is on a mid-range setting. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to upgrade their sound system, and for Jeep owners especially.

Installed the Kenwood KSC-SW10 under the rear seat in a crew cab Colorado. Fit perfectly in the space and is truly a perfect sub for my listening tastes. I previously owned an S10 extended cab and fit a Clarion SRV303 into one of the rear fold-down seats. I thought the Clarion was a good product which provided enough low-end base to improve the overall sound quality...until I installed the Kenwwod. The base production from the SW10's (2) 5x7's is clean with good punch and not as muffled as the Clarion unit. The crispness of the bass production from the Kenwood unit compliments the music without the lingering rumble...this is the case through all bands that are selected. Another nice feature is the remote. It does not have indents on the dial that limit you to a specific band. The dial allows you to select any band from 50Hz to 120Hz and anything in-between then allows you to increase the output of that band separately. I did not think that was a big deal at first but after installation and playing tracks it allows you to fine tune the sub to the genre selected.
To echo the other reviews about powered subs that I have read, it will not give you the rumble of a component sub system but will give you the added dimension to your system with good range and enough feel and quality base to enhance your system.

I bought this product for my 2008 Xterra and mounted it under the front passenger seat. It performs really good, but is no replacement for the big base sound of the woofer. There's no way I can compete with my son's and daughter's base speakers, but it really helps bring out the base for my after market radio. Note: I trashed the Nissan speakers and bought Infinity speakers. Big difference and great sounding.

The 10" BOSS Enclosed Subwoofer is without doubt better then this set of 5x7 inch speakers. You won't get half the bass from 5x7 inch speakers that you would get from a 10" woofer. I'll give it one thing though, it does look pretty cool.

First let me say that I almost never review products. However I was so pleased with this unit I felt it necessary to write something. Prior to installing this unit I had gone thru TWO Boss Audio 8" powered subs in about 3 days. The first one lasted about 2 minutes and went into protect mode and that was it. I though, ok maybe I just got a bad unit, so I sent it back and got my second one a couple days later. (Amazon service was great). I quickly wired up the second unit and it was working fine for about 2 days, then it just quit. Strike two, there was no way I was going to buy ANYTHING with the name BOSS Audio on it again. After a little searching I found this unit. I have a 2009 Ford F150 super cab and was just looking for something to give me a little extra low end thump and didn't have a lot of room to play with.(it fit perfect under the rear seat) I'm using the factory radio cuz it has Sirius, but I put a pair of Boston Acoustic speakers in front and it made a HUGE difference. Yet it was still missing that low end thump that I was used to from having a factory sub in my prior truck. As others have said, this will not blow your windows out, but in my opinion it does a great job. My friends couldn't believe the difference in sound with this unit hooked up. I especially LOVE the remote control. I listen to mostly Classic Rock from the late 60's and early heavy metal like Black Sabbath. The phase control on the remote is AWESOME. Depending on the song, the phase needs to be adjusted quite a bit sometimes. If you have a sub without a remote you would always be pulling over to adjust the phase level because one setting is not going to be optimal for all songs. I payed about $120 for this unit and it is worth every penny. Also, it was easy to wire and comes with a good quality wiring kit. My friend is going to go buy 2 for his car he liked mine so much.
