Customer Reviews: Excellent Home Theater System for Those on a Budget December 21, 2009 BachLady (Memphis, USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I've had this system for about a month. Got it from Sears as part of a Black Friday deal. Setup was pretty easy, as the instructions are detailed. I used a GE HDMI cable for the picture and a Sony optical cable for the TV audio, and everything sounds great for the price. Yes, if you want to make it sound like you're actually in the theater or in the recording studio, you'll need to get one of the high-end systems (Marantz, Bose, etc.). If all you're looking for is an all-in-one system that delivers excellent surround sound and doesn't require you to mortgage your house, this is probably the best on the market right now. iPod playback is easy to do and sounds great. iPod video sounds great, but the picture isn't that good; however this is a problem with the compression of the video file on the iPod, not the Panasonic system, so that doesn't count. I've watched older DVDs like "Once Upon a Time in America" and newer DVDs like "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and all of them look and sound amazing on my Vizio 32" 720P television. If you can't - or won't - spend a bunch of money on a home theater system, get this Panasonic. You won't regret it.
