wireless surround sound systemChoosing the best wireless surround sound system for your home takes careful research so that you know you are getting the best audio for your money. By understanding the terminology and what to look for, you will be able to spend your money wisely.

A wireless surround sound system will likely be 5.1. This refers to the numbers of speakers there are. With 5.1, there is a speaker for the center, for the front left, the front right, the rear left, and the rear right.

The .1 refers to one subwoofer, which plays the low frequency sounds. Although 5.1 is the lowest number that you will look at, you can also consider 6.1 or 7.1 for additional rear speakers.

A wireless surround sound system isn’t truly wireless. The technology doesn’t yet exist that will allow high-performance speakers to be completely without wires, but it has been making strides.

Right now manufacturers use either infrared light or radio waves to send the signals. The front speakers are typically wired and this setup is saved for the rear ones. These speakers still need wires to be plugged in for power.Although some battery operated ones are on the market, they do not deliver high quality audio.

wireless speakers surround sound systemAlthough there are still some wires in a these systems, it is still more convenient than traditional speakers that are difficult to set up.It saves you from having to secure the wires so they won’t be tripped on or unsightly. It’s also good for someone who wants their home theater in the center of a room because they are unable to run the wires along their walls. Most of the major manufacturers offer this popular setup for people who prefer it.

There are a growing number of options for anyone interested in purchasing a wireless surround sound system for their home. By being informed about the technology and terminology, you know what to look for and will be able to get the best quality at the best price. Wireless Home Theater System Buying Tips

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

wireless home theater systemButter Popcorn, cozy seats and an all time classic movie…all this in the comfort of your own home? Possible? Yes, now with a wireless home theater system you can get the ‘theater’ feel in your own home.

Wouldn’t it be great for you to come home, after a long hectic day at work, to a comfortable home and your favorite room…your movie room, with its wireless home theater system…with warm butter popcorn and your all-time favorite flick playing? It’s even better than going out with some friends to an overcrowded movie, where people mostly talk and the popcorn is stale.

Snap back to reality pal! Unless you have a wireless home theater system, this fantasy of yours is just pointless. But why should it be just a fantasy?

Buying and affording a home theater system is not that difficult. But why go in for just any home theater system…why not the best…why not the wireless home theater system. Now you do not have to worry of miles of wires or of electrocuting yourself.

Understanding Home Theater Systems

The first thing you need to do is understand the concept of home theater systems. Here we are talking about recreating the feel of going to the movies in your very own home. So that would include a large screen on a wall preferably a forty inch flat screen TV, a projector, three or five speakers with digital surround sound and lets not forget the comfortable seats. And what makes a home theater system absolutely perfect is if it were a wireless one, so that your room is aesthetically free of unsightly wires.

Tips on buying a wireless home theater

Ok so you have finally decided to buy a home theater system and a wireless one at that. So how do you start? What do you do? Here are some tips that will help make it your whole home theater buying expedition a little simpler.

whole home theater buying expedition Planning – I cannot stress enough on the importance of planning before buying a home theater system. You need to decide and plan on several things – the place where you are going to set up the home theater system, the budget, the components, the accessories and so much more. Plan out each and every detail with room for improvement. The stuff you buy is going to be expensive and you don’t want to end up with something that isn’t suitable for you. And once you have decided upon the type of TV – flat screen, LCD or plasma screen, the rest as they say is history.

  • Accessories – here comes the interesting part, the accessories for your wireless home theater system. If you have a tight budget then just a large screen TV and speakers will do, but if you have some extra moolah to spare, then there are some cool accessories you should splurge on. I’m not saying extravagant and over the top accessories…I am talking about essential accessories like a power conditioner and learning remote control. A power conditioner is where you can plug in all your equipment, and the remote control is one that eliminates all others. You can also throw in a set of headphones if you have small kids in the house whom you do not want to disturb at nights.
  • Speakers – buying home theater speakers or speakers designed for your home theater system can be quite a task, especially with so many varieties and technologies for speakers and sound. If you are getting home theater speakers then avoid the traditional looking bulky box speakers, instead opt for those that are slim and sleep and can be wall mounted right next to your flat screen TV.
  • DVD and projector – a DVD player and projector are essential components for your home theater system. You can get a DVD player to fit every size and every budget. A projector may not be that essential, but if you have the money you can always get one to round out the whole ‘home theater’ feel.

So, what are you waiting for? Go out there and get yourself a brand new wireless home theater system, but don’t forget to plan!

Home theater systems are generally a mess with a huge mass of wires involved. These days, home theaters with wireless speakers are also available. To know more about wireless home theater systems read on..

71c1f105e610852797b32de255661dce Wireless Home Theater System: Home Theater with Wireless Speakers

The tangled wire mesh is a big problem when you buy a home theater system. After buying a home theater, you have to drill holes and conceal the wires, which is highly inconvenient. The wireless home theater systems help you get rid of this mess of the wires that connect the home theater speakers to the base system. Both the audio and video systems are available with wireless speakers.

The surround sound speaker wires have to trail through the whole room. However, the wireless technology eliminates this chaotic wire mess. The factors involved in choosing the best wireless speakers are quality, sound range and total investment involved. The cost of the wireless speakers is an important factor in setting up a home theater system with wireless speakers. Always remember that low price speakers are not always the best deal.

Transmission Modes

The transmission of the data required for the speakers is not wired and uses the following two transmission modes:

Radio Frequency Transmission:

wireless speakersThe wireless speakers use two technologies: the radio frequency (RF) and the infrared technology. The radio frequency technology uses radio signals to transmit audio signals from the base system to the speakers. The transmission speed of 40 kbps and 900 MHz is a popular frequency used for radio frequency transmission. Radio frequency transmission is beneficial as line of sight transmission is not necessary. The radio signals can travel through the walls, electronic devices and other interruptions.

The position of the speakers must be adjusted in such a way that best reception and audio quality is available. These kinds of speakers are generally used in the outdoor speakers and can be kept in different rooms. However, these speakers have limited range and this range must be checked in the room in which you are installing the speakers. This technology is improving to minimize the interference of the electronic devices like cordless phones and radio. This is an expensive option as compared to the infrared speakers.

Infrared Transmission:

The infrared speakers use the infrared light to transmit data signal to the speakers. The transmission rate of this technology is 50 to 2000 bps. The wavelength of the transmitted light is in the range of 870 nm to 950 nm. This technology is best for home theater system set up in a small area. The maximum range of the transmitter and the speaker receiver is 20 feet. All the opaque physical materials obstruct the infrared signals. Glass does not obstruct the infrared signals, but tinted and colored glass does obstruct the infrared signals. Line of sight is to be maintained when installing the transmitter and the speaker receiver.

Types of Wireless Speakers

Integrated Wireless Home Theater System:

Wireless Home Theater SystemThis is a complete wireless home theater system that consists of the amplifier, transmitter, front and rear speakers, front center speaker, two frontal speakers and a sub woofer.

Add-On Wireless Speakers:

This system consists of transmitters, receivers and surround sound speakers. This system is for those who already have a wired home theater. The new transmitter is connected to the already existing amplifier.

The disadvantage of wireless speakers for your home theater system is that the wireless speakers have a limited range. These speakers do not have an external power supply. They need a rechargeable battery unit which act as back up units and are quite expensive.
